Next FTD release - Dixieland Delight

Follow That Dream label will release a double CD set entitled "Dixieland Delight" on May 18, 2009. The set should feature concert performances from May 31st 1975 and June 1st 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. 

Information received includes; Elvis was truly inspired by the superb reaction he received in Huntsville, selling out five shows. EMI Music will release a brand new documentary entitled "Love Me Tender: The Love Songs of Elvis" by the end of July.  IMC Vision will release a DVD titled The Milton Berle TV Show - Guest Starring Elvis and featuring the show on the USS Hancock.

Hot Shots and Cool Clips 5 And After Midnight

JAT Publishing announced two new releases. Due for release around October 2009 is volume five in the "Elvis - Hot Shots and Cool Clips" DVD series. Available June 1st. 2009 is a 40th Anniversary commemorative July 31, 1969 Las Vegas Menu with the bonus CD "After Midnight," containing many interesting celebrity interviews recorded after the much-celebrated July 31 V.I.P. Show. The CD will also include radio spots and commentary featuring Elvis in Las Vegas. The disc will be included inside the menu, which will be reproduced in its original format of 8 ½” x 17”.

Like Any Soldier - 50th Anniversary Re-issue

In 1988, Jerry Osborne first published "Elvis: Like Any Other Soldier". The book is now to be re issued.From the information received:In 1988, we first published "Elvis: Like Any Other Soldier," There, for the first time ever, Elvis fans enjoyed the text and many exclusive photos in an exact reprint of Elvis' original basic training class yearbook: "2nd Armoured Division, Fort Hood, Texas 2nd Medium Tank Battalion." A soldier's souvenir of time spent at Fort Hood. The total print run 20 years ago sold out quickly, but to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Elvis' army years (1958-'60) we're publishing a completely revised edition. Contains loads of fabulous new photos not in the 1988 printing, most of which are previously unpublished! Also features 12 full pages of gorgeous colour Elvis shots.

A Million Dollar Guitar

Up for auction on eBay is the Original Elvis Presley 1969 Black Ebony Custom Gibson Dove Guitar. This is the only guitar of its kind in the entire world. The guitar was played by Elvis in concert and was made specifically for him. The body of the guitar is black with a Kenpo Karate symbol at the base. The neck has the name Elvis Presley inlaid in mother of pearl. The guitar was thrown in the audience and kept behind lock and key ever since. The owner tried to sell it before, but nobody bid over $85,000.00. This time, the asking price is one million dollars.Item ID: 320363368116
