Writing For The King Follow That Dream release ‘Writing for the King’, by Ken Sharp. This 400-Page book includes more than 140 interviews with songwriters to the king and a fascinating behind-the-scenes story of politics, money, inspiration and great trivia about Elvis and the songs he turned into classics. Included is a 2 CD set of previously unreleased Elvis performing live in Las Vegas (1969 through 1972) and a selection of the original demos submitted to Elvis from ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ to ‘Way Down’.

Inside Roustabout by Megan Murphy covers stories about the making of Roustabout. The book will have a limited edition and includes a DVD and collectors items.

 

Memphis Recording Service Volume 2 - The Rise Of Elvis Presley: 1955’. Larger than the previous Vol.1, the package is produced by Joseph Pirzada and Joseph A Tunzi. This package will consist of the book containing lots of new information on Elvis in 1955, the Vinyl 45rpm Sun Master ‘Mystery Train’, DVD of unreleased footage which marks the first known for Elvis in 1955, Dolby Digital recording of 40 fully restored tracks from 1955 (including 9 Bonus Tracks from 1954) including Studio and Live. There are also many surprises on the audio disc of previous unreleased material and a selection of rare photographs accompanying each song.

Black velvet Elvis A 96 page book by John Black entitled ‘Black Velvet Elvis’ (ISBN: 0889842779).  A book of poems relating to Elvis which takes on both a light hearted and graceful expression.

Set for release in February is a 336 page book by Charlie Connelly entitled, ‘In Search of Elvis’ (ISBN: 0316730556).   A humorous investigation into what makes Elvis’ popularity survive through the generations following his death.

 

CDs

The Essential Elvis Presley Two CD set from BMG, ‘The Essential Elvis Presley’, is due for release this month. A variety of hits and lesser known songs to non fans!

The Elvis Presley Collection A Sony/BMG 3CD re-issue comes both in a standard jewel case box and a long box featuring the three classic albums, ‘Elvis Presley’, ‘Elvis’ and ‘Loving You’.

 ‘Follow That Dream’ (FTD) label released a soundboard recording from February 1977 entitled, 'Unchained Melody'.   Also with ‘Follow That Dream’ is the reissue of the ‘His Hand in Mine’ gospel album which includes the content of the original release plus a great selection of bonus material from the sessions that produced the original album
